Move-In Cleaning Checklist: Starting Fresh

1 min read

A new place rarely comes as clean as it looks. You do not know how the last occupant left it, or whether it was really cleaned at all, and the one moment it sits completely empty is the easiest it will ever be to clean top to bottom. Do it before your things go in and before your first night.

Kitchen

This is where it matters most, since it is where you will prepare food. Clean inside the oven, the refrigerator, and every cabinet and drawer. Wipe down the counters, backsplash, and sink, and run an empty cycle in the dishwasher.

Bathrooms

Disinfect the toilet, tub, shower, and every surface. Clean inside the vanity and medicine cabinet and treat any grout or hard-water buildup the last occupant left behind so you start from a genuinely clean slate.

The rest of the home

Wipe baseboards, trim, doors, and switch plates. Clean inside closets and shelving before you fill them. Do the windows, sills, and tracks, dust the fixtures and vents, and save the floors for last, vacuuming carpet and mopping hard floors throughout.

If scrubbing a whole home in the middle of a move sounds like the last thing you have energy for, that is

exactly what a move-in cleaning is for. We do them on empty homes across Suffolk and Nassau County,

including Glen Cove. Get an instant quote at torrentcleaningcompany.com or call (631) 830-6500.
